Your industry, your template
Marine, machinery, playgrounds, scaffolding, fire doors: if you inspect something and write it up afterwards, ducksoup can write it for you.
Ducksoup is not built around one kind of inspection. It is built around a simple shape of work: you look at something, you record what you find, and a report goes to a client afterwards. If your work fits that shape, ducksoup fits your work, whether the subject is a hull, a harvester, a playground or a fire door. There are two ways in: pull in the template you already use, or build one from scratch. Either way, every report after that follows it.
How does pulling in my existing template work?
Upload an old report, your current checklist, or both. Ducksoup reads them and rebuilds them as a living template: your sections in your order, your boilerplate and disclaimers, even the way you phrase common findings. It handles PDFs, Word documents, spreadsheets and plain text, and it works from the document you actually have rather than asking you to fill in a form about it. The point is that your reports keep looking the way they have always looked. They just stop taking your evenings.
What if I do not have a template?
Then build one in the editor. A template in ducksoup is two things: the checklist of what you look at on site, arranged however your work is arranged, and the layout of the report your client receives. You can start from a blank tree, add areas and items as you would walk the job, and set the report sections, fixed text and sign-off around it. Most people find it faster to start from any old report they have, but starting clean works.
What happens on site?
The same capture that building inspectors use, pointed at your checklist. Photograph what you find, tag it against your template, and speak your notes. The report drafts itself in your format and your voice while you are still on the job, and you review and send it rather than writing it.
What if my work does not quite fit?
Ring us on 027 543 5406 and you will get a person, not a phone tree. Fitting an unusual template is genuinely the part we like: bring whatever your industry works from, and if something about your reports does not map cleanly, we will sort it with you rather than telling you to change how you work.
